Have you ever wished you could multiply yourself? Duh. Especially so there are multiples of my beautiful face ;)
All jokes aside, as there are a lot of tasks to tackle to keep my sales pipeline moving smoothly. During my Pipeline Generation Bootcamp, I learned the value of email sequencing and it has truly saved my sales life.
Email sequences are automated emails scheduled up front and sent out at your specific time. You can create sequences for each stage in your sales process and pipeline to automate your sales needs.
Here are a four ways that email sequencing can save you time and energy, as it has for me!
1. Action Plan to Engage in the Prospects
Setting up a sequencing system allows you to make an overall plan on how you are working your specific group of prospects.
What is your tone to make your prospects move? Are you communicating urgency? Are you building trust?
Whatever your goal is, sequencing your emails out ahead of time will allow you to plan your message thoroughly to communicate it the best.
2. Create and Organize Specific Tasks Each Day
With our sales partner, HubSpot, I am able to set up tasks based on the prospect's interaction with the email. If they open the email, the workflow I set up will automatically assign me a task to reach out to them. This is a great way to create a call lists for follow up!
If you do not have a software to set up tasks for you, simply mark the days the emails will be schedule to go out and arrange your prospecting tasks round them. If your email is going out on a Tuesday, make your calls Monday. Be strategic with your days.
Sequencing can help you organize your tasks into digestible chunks. Have a worry free day by knowing exactly what you are doing!
3. Collect Data Easily
With email sequences you can analyze what emails are getting the most engagement and which aren't. This can be communicated to the marketing department to refine your smartketing strategy to improve your performance.
Data and performance metrics will also inform you on how to best sequence emails and give you examples to sell to your current clients for sales enablement packages. To be able to sell something, you have to have the data and experience to back it up!
4. Letting Go!
I don't know about you, but it is hard to know when to let a prospect go. You always feel you can still make a sale, even if they have straight up said "NO!" As a sales lion, I always feel I can get them into some sort of package, it's just my nature.
With email sequencing, once the sequence finishes...so does your prospecting of that person or company. You are done! Don't keep chasing after them! You will exhaust yourself trying to sell to a prospect who is not ready.
While email sequences may look daunting to put together, they truly save tons of time and energy in my prospecting efforts.
